Systellar on AI for hardware at the AI Summit

Alexandre Gol i Mestre, Systellar's CTO, will speak at AI Summit Barcelona 2026 on Tuesday 22 September. The talk is "Satellites, Planes & Trains: Why Hardware's Cursor Moment Just Started", on the Demo Stage at 10:30, as part of the AI For Tomorrow track.

AI Summit Barcelona runs on 22 and 23 September at the World Trade Center Barcelona, with more than 200 speakers and over 10,000 founders, engineers, investors and enterprise teams. Almost every session is about software. This one is about the physical systems that still get designed the same way we did 20 years ago.

When an AI agent works on software, it opens a repository and finds everything it needs in one place: the code, its history, the tests, and a way to check whether a change broke something. Hardware engineering has nothing like that. Requirements live in one tool, the architecture in another, the analysis in a script on someone's laptop, and the reasoning that ties them together lives in the heads of a few senior engineers. When a number changes, the people who depend on it find out weeks later, in a review, after they have already done their work on the old value.

That is not a problem an agent can solve by being smarter. No agent can do useful work on a system it cannot see, and today most hardware programmes cannot even show it one. That is why AI adoption in hardware companies is still anecdotal: at most, a chatbot connected to a folder of documents.

The talk covers what has to exist for that to change, why it exists now, and what engineering looks like once an agent can see the whole system.
